Access to an old case back in the sixties?
I am looking for some way to find out about an old case back in the sixties. I know newspapers hold pages of their material on microfiche, as does libraries, but how does old court cases get archived. Does the info get wiped clean after a period of time or can they be searched somehow for later research.

It may have been a small claims court case over claims of financial damages so nothing criminal if you follow. I know the town it would have occured but have no idea which type of court and where.

Any info to start me off would be good.

Access to Archives.
I am researching the case of Charles Alfred Gibbs Church, who died in Broadmoor on the 1st of April 1945, aged 29 years. According to the death certificate, Gibbs Church died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis. The informant was R.S.Payne, Coroner for the Reading district of Berkshire. An inquest was held on 4th April 1945, and the death certificate was registered on 5th of April 1945. Gibbs Church was formerly from Liverpool, his previous address being: 48, Clevedon Street, Liverpool. I have attempted (several) advanced searches on this site, but to no avail. Help !!!
