As part of this application, you will be required to sit the Civil Service Judgment test (CSJT). The CSJT is a two-part test which looks at your ability to make decisions in relation to specific civil service behaviours. 

The CSJT is stage one of your application process and you will have the option to complete a practice test immediately before taking the test, to give you an insight of what to expect before you start. 

If you are successful in passing this stage, your full application will be sifted once the application deadline has closed. You will then receive further instruction on the progress and outcome of your application.

Purpose

To support the provision of a pro-active advice and consultancy service to enable clients to attract and assess the best talent and deliver a world-class justice system that works for everyone in society.

This role would suit someone who want to work in team that thrives on collaboration and innovation and works to harness new technologies and methodologies to attract and assess the best talent. You will be provided with the opportunity to support on a variety of projects from designing assessments for high volume roles such as prison officers and probation officers and specialist roles such as magistrates, forensic psychologists and key senior civil service roles. You will be funded, supported and provided with a Supervisor to complete the Qualification in Occupational Psychology (QOP) (Stage 2).

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships both within the team and with clients.
  • Conduct research and provide support on the design, development, implementation and evaluation of employee selection procedures, including psychometric tests, assessment centre exercises and structured interviews.
  • Support in the design and deliver training packages to train assessors, interviewers and role players.
  • Carry out statistical analysis and interrogation of data to quality assure assessment outcomes to ensure they are consistent, reliable, valid, free from adverse impact and legally defensible.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide an integrated recruitment service.
  • Respond to any other requirements, as directed, across MOJ People Group, in line with the general roles and responsibilities.

Technical/Qualification Requirements

  • Graduate Membership with BPS (MBPsS)
  • BPS-accredited MSc in the professional category area of Occupational Psychology (https://www.bps.org.uk/public/become-psychologist/accredited-courses)
  • Working towards, or must be willing to work towards the Qualification in Occupational Psychology (QOP) (Stage 2)
  • Good knowledge of statistics and competent in using SPSS
