Job Role Subject to GSR. Location can be flexible and due to current restrictions may be remote until final work location arrangements have been established. It is anticipated that the role will be based in an MoJ location within reasonable travelling distance of home.
Overview of the role:
Working within a HQ team led by the Divisional Director for MoJ HQ HR Business Partnering and SCS Team, you will work within a team that ensures our people are at the heart of everything we do.
As a HR Business Partner in MoJ HQ, you will be responsible for forging productive relationships with relevant senior leadership teams, enabling translation of business priorities and strategy into a coherent people agenda with targetted interventions.
Working alongside a Director to support Directors and their Senior Leadership Team to design and deliver tailored HR interventions to drive improvements in effective leadership, people management, organisational design and development, change management and workforce strategy.
Postholders will work closely with colleagues across People Group to provide business insight to improve HR processes, systems and the service provided to business areas. They will address medium and longer-term challenges by working closely with MOJ's People Group's Expert Centres and HR colleagues across MoJ and its agencies, as well as the wider Civil Service professions.
Summary:
Key to this role is the need to be a credible HR professional with the ability to establish quality relationships. While the HRBP is the primary contact for senior stakeholders, their success is reliant upon the strength and support of the rest of the People Group function via Shared Services and Expert Services, as such the individual will need to be able to deliver through others.
In summary the postholder will:
- Working closely with Directors and Senior Leadership Team on strategic workforce planning to establish existing and future workforce numbers, skills requirements and organisation structures
- Providing support and advice on resourcing vacancies, ensuring compliance with Civil Service Commissioner Principles
- Advising- on and delivering talent management - supporting building capability through implementing talent reviews, supporting performance validation and advising on capability plans for the business,
- Supporting Directors and Senior Leadership Teams to identify and plan employee engagement interventions, using Civil Service People Survey data, that will drive increased capability and performance
- Engaging Directors and Senior Leadership Teams to ensure people issues and risks are considered at the appropriate time
- Supporting the implementation of changes by proactively planning and advising on effective change management

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience of working in a HR team within the Civil Service, and an awareness of the wider CSHR operating model
- The ability to confidently build and manage a diverse range of relationships, including with senior stakeholders
- Strong experience of leadership in a HR team, with experience of leading on HR strategy or previous experience as a HR Business Partner
- Excellent communication skills, both in verbal and written formats
- Ability to analyse and understand data and apply analytics to business delivery
Desirable Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
- Project Management Experience
- Trained in CS Job Evaluation methodolgies (JEGS and JESP)
