The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) is now inviting applications for the post of Registrar of Criminal Appeals, Master of the Crown Office and Queen's Coroner & Attorney.
This is a demanding post providing support and advice to the Lord Chief Justice, the Vice President of the Court of Appeal Criminal Division and the Presiding Lord Justices of that Court on administrative and legal issues regarding the work of the Criminal Division of the Court of Appeal.
The court deals with appeals against conviction or sentence. These can range from basic appeals to appeals of national importance or interest, including appeals from convicted terrorists (with the appropriate security implications) and child murderers. The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring that active judicial case management takes place and for providing judicial leadership to the legal and administrative staff of the Criminal Appeal Office.
