We are currently looking to recruit a Fast Track Litigator to join the Fast Track Litigation team. The role will be to manage a portfolio of 110 fast track RTA cases with at least 40% in litigation. A Fast Track litigator’s primary purpose is to litigate and conclude cases falling within the Fast Track wherever this will be to the benefit of the client and the financial benefit of the practice. Cases will be referred to a Fast Track Litigator primarily from the Legal Assistance area as either: • 2 years + of age,• Liability in dispute • Quantum in dispute• Pre Action cases with a value between £10k and £15k• Case is of a complexity that is not suitable for the Legal Assistance Area. Through effective litigation, the Fast Track litigator will ensure that the firm is not exposed to limitation risks and that all internal procedures relating to litigation are followed at all times.You are expected to litigate at every opportunity and maximize cost recovery on each case you handle. Skills and Knowledge required: General Skills: Ø Customer careØ Excellent spoken and written communications skillsØ Ability to take on large amounts of complex informationØ High level of accuracy and attention to detailØ Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesØ Good organizational and time management skillsØ Computer and admin skillsØ Able to use the Case Management SystemØ Respect for confidential informationØ Assisting newer member of the team in dealing with casesØ Ability to keep calm under pressureØ Ability to build good working relationships with people at all levels of the businessØ Be willing to take on responsibilityØ Research skillsØ Observe the policy & procedures as required Technical Skills: Ø Good working knowledge of PI and PD claims handling processesØ Good working knowledge of the Motor Insurance Bureau’s, untraced and uninsured drivers agreements Ø Good working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules for example: Part 7 (issuing claims forms), Part 26 (allocation), Part 36 (offers), Ø Good understanding of Insurance principlesØ JSB guidelinesØ NegotiationØ Providing training and development for newer members of the teamØ Excellent understanding of special damage claims such as loss of earnings
