THE ROLE We are currently looking for a newly qualified associate to join our busy London based team. Associates in the corporate group enjoy a breadth of experience across all focus groups in their first three or four years of practice. Thereafter they are given the opportunity to focus their efforts on one or two specific areas of expertise, either in the type of corporate work that they will primarily work on, or the type of clients they will generally serve. In addition associates are encouraged from an early stage to be actively involved in business development initiatives and activities e.g.: participating in client pitches or planning client care programmes for key clients. These skills add an extra dimension to the delivery of legal services and help to build business case for partnership. KEY REQUIREMENTS · Excellent academics, minimum of 2.1 at degree level. Good training within a highly ranked practice. Newly qualified candidates to have completed at least one seat in Corporate. · Effective team player - able to work effectively in an established, close-knit team. An enthusiastic and engaged attitude with excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style. Able to form strong working relationships across all areas of the practice. · Good technical ability and solid drafting skills. · Active interest in becoming proactively involved in know how and business development and marketing. Ability to communicate and handle client contact from the outset. A commercial and pragmatic outlook.
