The role will include taking initial instructions from clients, setting up cases on the claims management system, instructing agents, sending all initial letters including letter of claim and instruction of medical agency, reviewing liability, obtaining evidence, preparing schedules of loss and maintaining a portfolio of approximately 200 files up to the point that a medical report is received. It also involves liaising with clients, third parties and insurers and managing post and diary on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be expected to meet targets and objectives set on an individual basis as well as a team. The applicant must possess the following skills:- - Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of RTA case handling
- Have a commitment to client care, good communication skills, telephone manner and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a highly organised way and as part of a team
- Accuracy
- Confident telephone manner
- Ability to use the case management system
- Good working knowledge of the Pre Action Protocol
- An ability to calculate special damage claims
- An ability to negotiate, and to deal with the many strands of a claim quickly and efficiently
- An ability to review liability
- Ability to work under pressure
