My Grandson serves in the Royal Navy,when home on leave he intervened when a friend,who was very drunk,was arguing with a Police Officer.While trying to get him away the friend became abusive towards him and he punched him causing him to fall to the ground and bang his head on the pavement. He has pleaded guilty and is due to go to Crown Court although he has now been allowed to go on deployment as hi Commanding Officer wrote to the court to say that he was needed on ship. He has never been in trouble before and has an exemplary service record,he apologised to his friend immediately and is devastated at this out come. Can anyone give me an idea as to what is likely to happen to him as I am really worried that he could be discharged from the Navy.
