right of resident (Posted on: 2013-07-15 10:41:37)
The ground floor flats in this private estate has
mould grow because residents not able to “use” the windows as the result of the
way that the windows configurated. There
is no small sash that can provide constant fresh air or when needed. The windows are big (enough for a person to
get through), open it not possible when using the toilet or taking a bath; open
it not possible when you leave the room because of security. The same apply to the bedroom – privacy and
security issues.
I want to change new windows with a small sash that I can
open and have constant natural air but the management of the estate states that
changing the design of windows are not allowed.
The estate was built over some 20 years ago. I know this is not complying with current
Building Regulation. I decline to fix
the ventilation problem mechanically for obvious reasons. Can I fight my right?
Thanks for reading.
