Your friend is in deep trouble and he found guilty of majority in 10:2 which is not good for him, but the good thing for him is that lack of evidences against him, which can work.

Miscarriage of Justice     (Posted on: 2012-05-01 18:28:51)

In 2011 a friend was found guilty of murder by a majority of 10:2. The Judge had asked for an unanimous decision but after nearly a week the Jury could not do this so said they could come back with 10:2. Again after half a week had gone he sent them home on the friday, the following week was easter week. On the monday he told them he could only accept a finding of 10:2 and sent them off to deliberate agian. By the afternoon they came back with the 10:2. I believe if the Judge had told them that they could come back into court and tell him that if they could not get the 10:2 and then they would go for a re-trial then my friend would be free now. All the evidence was a very poor circumstantial evidence, no one had seen him near the victim and no one had seen the victim been killed. He has been in jail for an year now and his sentence was a 25 year minimum. In our town of a population of 5000 people 99% of them believe him innocent. His legal team have not lodged an appeal saying they need fresh evidence. How can my friend fight this injustice whilst he is being held in a category A prison with very little abilty to communicate with the outside world? I hope someone out there can help and advice.
