this is the charge of grievous bodily harmand if the other person is injured vary badly then i think you need a fine criminal law solicitor for your defense.

Your first port of call must be to speak to a good/experienced solicitor. They can talk to the prosecution about the charges and get the medical evidence to see if the charge is made out and check if S18 is the right charge in this case. For S18 to be proven, your actions (actus reus/guilty act) must have caused grievous bodily harm, which means really serious harm - bruising is not sufficient for this offence. However, it does include psychiatric injury. i have been charged with section 18. the other person has no injuries what so ever. Can they still convict me under section 18
