Hi AnnBarry On sentencing it\'s not often clear which prison an offender will be sent to or where he/she will serve the sentence. Prisoners are moved to prisons depending on their age, sex, category, location and of course where there is space. As you have probably heard after the London riots in 2011 existing prisoners, in London prisons eg. HMP Pentonville, were moved to make room for new prisoners. Although we can suggest the most likely prison a person will be sent to from a particular court (and will put the information on this site eg. Wood Green Crown Court) it is always best to ask the cells in court after sentencing.
