Just in case anybody is curious about this particular case.  I managed to find the case number, sent an email to the court and was told that the trial date had been fixed for 19th March

I am interested in what happened in the case of Laura Johnson, the girl who was being tried for five charges of burglary and three of handling stolen goods during the London riots.

I believe her case was due to be heard on 9 January, but I cannot find any details of whether it happened and what was the outcome.

The reason I am curious is that the daughter of a friend of mine is serving 6 months for the theft of a pair of trainers, but of course she doesnt have a millionare for a father

From what I can tell The Law Pages only
has an array of key cases and then only successful prosecutions in the
sentencing database so the case in question may not be listed.
