Re:Where to get an update on a case?

Hi. I am also waiting for a case to be updated, but it looks like the data entry on this site is very haphazard, and possibly it varies a lot by individual court.

However, if you know the court where the defendant was being tried, I found the admin people there to be very helpful. You can search here to get the case number, give it to them and I am sure they will help

Re:Where to get information
Try the Magistrate Court for further information. If you have never had possession of the car in question  I'd ring the DVLA to inform them, sounds as if someone is using your identity.

Re:Which cases are listed on database?
Working in a court a defendant has the right to elect trial by jury on an offence which is classed as an either way offence so the magistrates court will commit a case to be heard at the local crown court. However there are some case which are classed as inditable only and these cases can only be heard at a crown court as they have a greater sentencing power, mags can only impose up to 6 mths custody. these offences are rape, robbery, murder, some drugs offences (usual intent to supply) etc etc.

Re:why can't i find a sentence that happened last year?
I am trying to find the details of someone I know was arrested and sent to prison last year September YET I cannot find any information on him. He is violent with paranoid schizophrenia symptoms - possibly why they are not treating this person as 'criminal' hence no records can be found?

Closed shop yet this person is a danger to the public hence police showed up in force to remove him from the building i live in, and retrieved a bag of knives.
