Depending on the length of his sentence he may still be on license if that is the case you should be able to make contact through the probation service. If this fails it may be worth contacting one of the investigators in the investigators section of the directory on this site.

You can either ring up the Magistrates Court with a particular name and they will be able to tell you what court they are in and at what time on that day, or you can go into the court and ask. Some courts give you print outs so that members of the public can see where the most "interesting"cases will be, but most will either have the listings on a board or a screen. Hope this helps
