If money is tight you may be eligible for "legal help" to aid the costs of a solicitor in court.

Some solicitors also have a free 1st consultation so it is worth bringing these issues up with them in this.

I'm currently trying to find out the same.i do as I've been asked to do a reference by a family member but also unaware of why they are in court. If you find anything out about how we can find out please could you let me know.

I managed to follow a Crown Court case everyday. The plea was Not Guilty. It updates daily from about 10:30 on. it only gives brief details. As long as you know the defendant's name and the actual Court and dates. How ever after 7 days it stopped and the last entry was something like "defence case closed". There was no mention of a verdict, I had to phone the actual Crown Court for that. As for future hearings I think the site only allows Solicitors & Barristers that option.

The same thing happened with my girlfriend's case. She got sent down but I didn't find out anything from here, I contacted the court in the end. The courts aren't even aware of this site so I don't know who is responsible for updating it. Accuracy is not its strongpoint.
