Re:Commit to Crown Court First Hearing
Every person charged with a crime goes to a Magistrates' court first (and over 95% of criminal cases are tried at a Magistrates' court). At the Crown Court, a preliminary hearing (PH) is the first step where case management issues (service of the prosecution case papers the making of preparatory applications) are raised. If the Defendant intends to plead guilty he/she can be sentenced at the Preliminary Hearing. If there is no PH, a Plea and Case Management Hearing (PCMH) will be required - where a defendant replies to a charge put to him by the court (by entering a 'guilty' or 'not guilty' plea).

Depending on the plea entered there may be several hearings for applications  (disclosure, special measures,  hearsay evidence, bad character evidence, bail application) before the matter reaches trial or sentencing/acquittal.

Re:CONFIRMING IDENTITY OF A PERSON
Find a solicitor, doctor, teacher, etc who knows you for at least 10 years and can confirm your identity by a letter statement of sorts. Contact the police. See a solicitor and obtain an affidavit confirming your story, identity, signature, photographic evidence attached etc, armed with the above evidence as to who you are then contact passport office in Liverpool alerting them to this unlawful act etc.
