1kbw has a substantial Dispute Resolution team, comprising 24 members of whom 9 are QCs. This approach is particularly suited to resolving issues concerning children, as well as cases where both financial and children issues arise, thereby avoiding the traditional ‘court battle’. 1kbw has offered a dedicated mediation service since 1998. Appointments can be made at short notice and arranged at any time of the day to fit in with work, education or child-care commitments.
Chambers provides expertise in all areas of Criminal work from proceedings in the magistrates’ courts to appeals before the Supreme Court, formerly the House of Lords. The growing area of commercial crime, including allegations of defrauding companies, is a notable specialism. Members have been involved in the prosecution and defence of accountants, financial advisers and a variety of other professional people in a number of such cases. Members have acted for the Serious Fraud Office, as well as appearing in cases against it. They also have extensive experience in handling the Civil work that frequently arises in the aftermath.
Personal Injury and Professional Negligence cases, disputes between landlords and tenants, as well as various Tribunal and appellate matters, are also handled. Chambers is, in addition, able to advise on a wide range of other matters, as individual members have their own particular areas of expertise.
