Re:Best judgement Daughter has received judgement she knows nothing about

Re:Best judgement     (Posted on: 2017-06-02 09:22:21)

I can\'t see how you can be right.
1. She has received no paperwork advising her of the claim, so she could not mount a defence.
2. She does not even know if this relates to the RTC.
3. The only \'evidence\' is from the plaintiff.
4. The judgement says that the damages have been agreed. Clearly they have not as my daughter knew nothing about this claim until the judgement came through yesterday.

She\'s speaking with the court today (if she is able to find time as she works for the NHS), and I will update you then.

Daughter has received judgement she knows nothing about     (Posted on: 2017-06-01 22:51:37)

My daughter today received a letter from the local county court telling her that, as she and the plaintiff had agreed terms, she should pay £2000 damages and £1900 costs into the court.
Thing is, my daughter doesn\'t know anything about a court case, and therefore most certainly hasn\'t agreed anything! She lives with me so I can be definite that no correspondence of any kind has been received.
The only thing she can think of is a minor traffic accident - no damage - 3 years ago. But she gave the other driver her details, reported it to her insurance company, and heard no more.
And agreeing terms? That simply has not happened. We are totally bemused.
What should she do now?
