Daughter has received judgement she knows nothing about
My daughter today received a letter from the local county court telling her that, as she and the plaintiff had agreed terms, she should pay £2000 damages and £1900 costs into the court.

Thing is, my daughter doesn't know anything about a court case, and therefore most certainly hasn't agreed anything! She lives with me so I can be definite that no correspondence of any kind has been received.
The only thing she can think of is a minor traffic accident - no damage - 3 years ago. But she gave the other driver her details, reported it to her insurance company, and heard no more.
And agreeing terms? That simply has not happened. We are totally bemused.
What should she do now?

Death by dangerous driving
Why are sentences for theft of monies so similar to those for death by dangerous driving? It seems to me the trade-off between intent and actual effects of negligence are not properly reflected in sentences.
